Abstract

It is offered a minimal extension of relational data model for conceptual modeling of the category of time in databases. A temporal algebra and calculus are developed. The temporal attribute is considered as ADT. A formal definition of the temporal relation is given. The semantics of operators update and delete is changed. New aggregate functions with temporal semantics are offered. In order to give temporal integrity constrains, closed formulas are used. Considered are the problems of partial support of the evolution of the database schemes.
