Michael Ley

Michael Ley is recognized today for two important and related achievements: his development of DBLP, and the editorship of the SIGMOD Anthology. We've all used these tools extensively. The centrality of DBLP can be measured by the fact that frequently, if you search for a database researcher on Google, you come to their DBLP page before their home page. The Anthology has, at long last, placed the research ideas of the entire community where they belong --- on the desktop of everyone who needs the information.
