dbjobs and dbgrads back online (16 Oct 2006)
After a long hiatus, dbjobs and dbgrads are back online.
Rachel Pottinger
(University of British Columbia) is the Associate Information Director
in charge and the person mostly responsible for the revival of the service.
- dbjobs, the database of database jobs, can be accessed at
http://www.dbjobs.org.
Job postings are moderated for relevance.
- dbgrads, the database of graduating database students, can be
accessed at
http://www.dbgrads.org.
Both services are currently free and available to the broader
database community by ACM SIGMOD. They are currently being
hosted at the Advanced Data Management Technologies Lab
of the University of Pittsburgh.
If you want more information about dbjobs and dbgrads, you can
read an article about them in SIGMOD Record:
Career-Enhancing Services at SIGMOD Online
(Vol 30, Num 3, September 2001).
If you have ideas for any other service that SIGMOD should provide
(especially if you want to volunteer to put it together :-)), please
contact the Information Director,
Alexandros Labrinidis.
