  1. ABSTRACT
  2. Microsoft Universal Data Access defines a platform for developing multi-tier enterprise applications that require efficient access to diverse relational or non-relational data sources across intranets or the Internet. Universal Data Access consists of a collection of software components that interact with each other using system-level interfaces defined by OLE DB and providing an application-level data access model called ActiveX Data Objects (ADO). This talk provides an overview of the platform.
