Abstract

These days we are constantly faced with ever increasing data on many subjects. As human beings, some order or discipline has to be applied to comprehend this data and This usually takes the form of actually visualizing the data and thereby helping to better understand the data. Other techniques such as simulation will also be covered to help in this understanding. Conversion from information to knowledge takes the form of assimilation and requires more sophisticated tools. Some examples of these tools that aid in this effort will be discussed. Examples of these are neural networks and other decision-making tools. Application of these tools as related to work at NASA will be presented as examples.
