10. ILPS 1993, Workshop 7: Constraint Logic Programming vs Operational Research

Constraint Logic Programming and Operations Research are two complementary technologies that can benefit from each other tremendously. On the one hand, CLP has only exploited a fraction of the knowledge accumulated in OR. On the other hand, CLP may allow many ideas from OR to become accessible to a wide audience. CLP also raises new problems at the intersection of programming languages, algorithm design, and operations research. The purpose of the workshop is to try stimulating a closer collaboration between the two fields and identifying new promising research directions. This one-day workshop will contain survey of some subareas in both fields and the presentation of recent research results.
