Abstract

Traditional information retrieval systems, in the guise of presenting the most relevant information to the searcher, really put blinders on him. They present certain information to the searcher, but strongly inhibit him from seeing other information, or even knowing of its existence. In this paper represent an argument for a new retrieval paradigm, one that focuses on the organized display of all documents, rather than on tbe linear display of just the "best."
